"Making A Dream"
Have you ever had an equestrian dream that you just couldn’t quite reach? Do you wish you
could have a special experience in the equestrian world but
challenging circumstances have gotten in your way? If so, then a newly launched scholarship
program may just make your dreams reality.
The USHJA Foundation “Making A Dream” Scholarship Program is philanthropic in nature and
extends opportunities to individuals with unique
circumstances who seek a special experience in the sport of hunters and jumpers.
Each experience is custom-designed depending upon the specific
interests of the recipient who will receive the resources needed to help in “Making A Dream.”

Making A Difference in Education
Starting in 2011, the USHJA Foundation and Zones choosing to participate in the program,
are joining to initiate a groundbreaking, scholarship development program.
It has long been the desire of the USHJA membership to have a cohesive, easy to use
scholarship system, thus enabling the zones to “give back” to
their members in the form of financial assistance for education. To celebrate the kickoff
of this initiative, the USHJA Foundation has developed
the Scholarship Partner Program. In 2011, the Foundation has pledged to contribute
additional funds to supplement all three types of educational
grants awarded by zones. This will “grow” the cash value of any scholarship a zone
decides to give. Everyone wins. The recipient gets a
more sizeable award, the zone is able to stretch their dollars farther and the Foundation
fulfills their mission.
An Investment In Our Future: Each scholarship dollar awarded by USHJA zones brings us
one step closer to insuring the future of the American hunter jumper sport. With these funds:
- We will help students who choose to rise to the challenge of obtaining a college
degree. Perhaps they will be the first in their family to ever attend college.
- We will move future farriers and veterinary technicians one step closer to realizing
their career dreams.
- We will facilitate professionals in becoming certified trainers who might not
otherwise be able to afford the expense.
- We will encourage young equestrians to reach higher levels of riding accomplishment
than maybe they thought they could ever attain.
